An Easter Wedding

Easter screams chocolate, church and family traditions but more than anything else, it reminds me of spring.

Spring brings new life, so why not celebrate a wedding over the Easter weekend to symbolise a new beginning.

There is so much inspiration on the net for an Easter themed wedding, and before your visions of Uncle Ray being dressed in an overly tight Bunny Suit comes to mind, we want to bring you a few tasteful ideas.

Think of spring colours. Bridesmaids dressed in pastels of yellow, peach, duck egg blue, pale green and of course the bride in white or cream (if tradition is followed). Groomsmen in cream or light grey suits with white shirts and hand made boutonnieres. Spring flower bouquets with feathers and dyed egg shells or spring flower head wreaths (think Kate Moss's wedding).

Decorating is always a tedious task, but keep it simple and cheap with home-made egg shell candles, or an egg inspired tree as centre pieces. There is also the use of egg-cups for place names (fill with lollies) and egg-cups as small vases. We love the idea of ceramic vintage bunnies and chickens set amongst flowers.

The cake is pretty easy too - Carrot Cake with cream cheese icing, easter themed cup cakes or a sweet bar with easter eggs for guests to help themselves. There's always Hot Cross buns too!

The spirit of Easter is all about Hope, Love and Joyfull living, just like a marriage should be.

Happy Easter!!
