Yarrow Stadium - Home to RWC 2011

Yarrow Stadium is a well kept secret for weddings.

Since the new re-development back in 2002 which revamped the legends lounge, concourse and changing rooms; Yarrow Stadium has been a perfect venue for Weddings and Events. But hardly anyone knows about it!

Having your wedding at Yarrow Stadium is only limited by your imagination. Depending on the rugby season, you can have your ceremony on the field with a grand entrance of walking down the 'aisle' which is the players tunnel, after getting ready in the players changing rooms with beers, bubbles and catering by Eurest their onsite caterers. Or have your guests sitting in the new coloured grandstand while you say 'I do' under the goal post draped in silk.

At Yarrow Stadium, you have the whole space to yourself which means unlimited parking, an entire field to release balloons, white doves or butterflies and no air restrictions to arrive and depart by helicopter.

The legends lounge is a magnificent area that can cater for 10 - 450 seated guests or 600 people for a cocktail reception. It has a wonderful view of the rugby field and mountain as well as windows that open right up on a warm summers night. The view of the sunset is not bad either! The legends lounge is pretty flexible, allowing partitions to make different rooms and different sizes. Think of a small chill out area away from the die hard party goers dancing up a storm to the band or a play room for the kids to wind down at while Mum and Dad enjoy themselves.

For a large wedding, the concourse is also available to hold up to 1000+ people.

I love this venue. Merely for the fact that we are proud Taranaki Rugby supporters and the place is simply symbolic, especially now that we've won the Ranfurly Shield and are a host city for Rugby World Cup 2011.  Its a pretty special place and surprisingly elegant once all the decorating has been done for you. Where else in Taranaki will you see "Congratulations Mr and Mrs (fill in the blank)" on such a significant scoreboard!!
