Meet Chris and Stacey Oliver – A love story that started 10 years ago.
Chris and Stacey first caught each other’s eye at a Eltham petrol station while fueling up to go ride motorbikes with friends. Chris later found Stacey on Facebook. Fast forward a few years and several conversations Chris was talking to Stacey about his upcoming Snowboarding trip and Stacey asked where her invite was? This led to them meeting up and they have never looked back. After a year the decision was made to move in together and a year after that Stacey fell pregnant. 8 months into the pregnancy Chris took Stacey on a dinner date. While waiting for their meal Chris decided he would use that time to pop out and pick up some Milk…Little did Stacey know he needed to get the ring that he had hid in the car, Chris came back with no Milk in hand but instead an engagement ring. Chris popped the question!
“Tears of joy rolled down my face, of course I said yes I knew he was the one for me”
Chris and Stacey decided to wait to set a date so they could focus on their young family. After six years of being engaged the date of 7th of March 2020 was set and the wedding planning began!
Both Chris and Stacey shared the view that they wanted a nice but simple wedding and both agreed that Okurukuru Bistro was perfect, they locked it in straight away. After going to a friend’s wedding they decided to use Victoria Jayne a Planner and stylist to make the day run smoothly with less stress on themselves and their friends and family.
“Someone to setup our day was a major as we couldn’t go onto the venue till 10am, and wanted our family to enjoy our day, relax and have fun.”
With their Wedding date being a popular one for the 2020 wedding season a lot of vendors were pre-booked so the couple found that making decisions fast was key to securing the perfect team to bring their big day to life.
“ We booked the most epic team to make our day perfect, little did we know when booking them we would look at them as friends on the day, honestly having the right vendors that suit you as a couple will make your day awesome!”
Their key advice to couples planning their own wedding day is to really look at the vendors you are choosing and look into using a planner or stylist as this takes a lot of the stress away.
“we were constantly told we were so relaxed and it’s because we had Victoria and knew she had us covered.”
Chris and Stacey had the most perfect day surrounded by 70 of their closest friends and family, the couple partied the night away as they always dreamed they would.
“Looking back I cry because it went so fast, it flowed the way we wanted, not a thing out of place. I always ask hubby can we go back and do it again, not to change a thing but to be in the moment again.”
Congratulations Chris and Stacey, thank you for sharing your Journey with us x
